Richmond Closes Out The NASCAR Regular Season

Wednesday September 6, 2006
2006 Chevy Rock n Roll 400 at Richmond International RacewayThis Saturday night in Richmond NASCAR will close out its regular season. The ten drivers eligible for the 2006 Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup will be locked in to battle for the 2006 NEXTEL Cup crown. Only the drivers in the top ten in points after Richmond will have a chance to win the Championship over the last ten races of the season.

This is the last chance for eleventh place Kasey Kahne to crack the top ten and qualify for The Chase. Currently only Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson are guaranteed a spot. This leaves nine drivers battling for eight remaining Chase spots. Plan your weekend around this one, this is one of the best races of the year.

Here is the full preview of the Chevy Rock 'n Roll 400.

I got to say that this new race for the chase format stinks. You mean that if Stewart, Biffle or Edwards WON the next 10 Races they still wouldn’t be able to be the Champion????????????????????????

Doesn’t Nascar know how many people will be turned off and not turn on the TV because their Driver doesn’t have a chance?

What if the 1978 Yankees who were like 14 games behind the Red Socks COULDNT COME BACK? It would have ruined the game. What if Boston Fans who are 10 games out now were told, “ok from this date if your not winning you can’t win”. THIS IS STUPID.

Please help me understand and tell me what I am missing…I am open to learning, but its going to be a hard sell
