Why is it so necessary to have and force minorities down the throats of NASCAR fans? If they can make it on there talent instead of giving them a FREE RIDE then so be it. Those who want diversity might be singing a different tune when they become the majority as they have in basketball and some other sports.
NASCAR’s already on the verge of ruining themselves with thier dumb rules, the car of the future and the stupid fines. This should really do the trick.
I agree with both the first 2 comments. Windol Scott did not have it handed to him so why do these gutless ones get better. We dont need to give anymore decendents of slaves anymore handouts. I need one myself. I am 71 years old and would like to drive a nascar real car at 175 or so around a real track. Most of these that they are trying to push are afraid to go fast.If u know of a car and track I will go. thanks. A chevrolet should be a chevy and a ford should be a ford.If they cant build one to sell like they race dont let them run.that is the way it used to be. Go back Thanks again.
More handouts from NASCAR to broaden their fan base. When will it stop? NASCAR is ruining this sport and I personally hope that they fail and fall on their face. I have been a fan of NASCAR racing since I was eight but this is the last straw. If you can’t drive you shouldn’t be there, I don’t care what your race or color is. Because of this, the many stupid rule changes, making every car equal, the desecration of the Nation Anthem (by people who think singing the National Anthem is a means of getting free publicity), the Three Ring Circus mentality (climbing the fence, back flips and snow angels) and finally today’s tribute to Canada. Since when has Michigan been part of Canada? Is this country now the United States of Canada? Has NASCAR completely lost their mind in singing “Oh Canada” before our own National Anthem? I don’t care if the racetrack was 10ft. from the border of Canada, we owe them nothing and we should never sing their National Anthem at an American event. NASCAR you have gone too far this time and I have thrown my 4 tickets to two of your races in the garbage and will never watch another NASCAR sponsored event as long as I live. I chose to throw the tickets in the garbage rather then giving them to someone who might buy a Hot Dog at the race that would help to support your cause. What has happened to “Base Ball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet”?????????????
I believe all people should try and go for what they love. If you want to be a driver then go for it! The problem beyond our PC world and trying to have our main stream motorsports(God forbide NASCAR) be diverse. It really takes a long time to discover and develop a persons talent level behind the wheel. The hard core facts is that it requires large amounts of money to get started from nothing. The traditional “good ol boys” own the tools, equipment, knowledge, and connections to get started. This will speed up a potential driver. When you do not have this you are up agains’t an uphill battle that you probably won’t win. The unfortunate facts is that no matter what race, poor people don’t race cars. Real professional race driving is not at all like the movies. This kind of life requiers tremendous sacrifices and dedication. This is not a joke. God speed the dedicated people that want it that bad.
With the exception of “racer c” the posts above have confirmed my “North West” view, that Nascar viewers are redneck bigots. I would like to believe that there is a corperate sponser out there who could develop talented black drivers. Latin America is well represented in racing and has been for decades. Fear is behind most bigotry and saying “they” are afraid to go too fast. Sounds like pure ignorance. “Ruin Nascar” ??? Wouldn’t ruin it for me. But if I was scared of sitting next to a black man in the stands, it just might ruin it.

Ron, don’t be ignorant. It’s long been customary to play more than one national anthem if a participating team is from another country or if the fan base in a given region is from two different countries, as it often is in the north. It’s entirely optional, of course, but it’s a nice touch and any foreign national anthem is played BEFORE ours as the host nation’s anthem is intended to be the last one heard. Our anthem is played abroad when Americans are involved, so it’s really a non-issue, unless one really has that little to do in life but complain about Canada, one of the most mild-mannered countries on earth.
To all you dumb racists who are afraid of becoming the minority in a world you created on the backs of others I say go to hell!
