2006 NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star ChallengeThis week the NASCAR stars come to the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge with a win-or-wreck attitude. There are no points on the line this weekend but there is a $1,000,000 payday for the winner. This made-for-TV event is a 90-lap three-segment dash for cash. There is little time for patience and strategy. Drivers need to go all out, get to the front and collect the win.

How do I get in touch with Steve McCormick? I cannot believe some of the things he says. The race at Darlington was a snoozer? Really? Would it have been more exciting if someone had wrecked and been injured or killed? The whole idea behind racing is to compete, and that is just what they did. Or, maybe Jeff Gorden or Tony Stewart or Dale Jr. didn’t win, so that made it a snoozer? If you put your comments out there, don’t be suprised if someone doesn’t call you on it. By the way, he never responded to my last e-mail either, guess he can’t take criticism.

Darlington was a snoozer. Yep. There was no on track competition at all. In fact, I don’t recall a single competitive pass on the race track. This was as exciting as a Formula One race (maybe worse). I certainly don’t like wrecks and yellows, that’s not how I define good racing. I DO want to see passing, or at least cars near each other. No doubt. Darlington was flat out boring.

Let’s not forget all the accomplishments that these Nascar drivers have. Just getting out there and giving their all for the fans.
