NASCAR Hall of Fame to be Built in Charlotte

NASCAR announced today that Charlotte, North Carolina will be home to the new official NASCAR Hall of Fame. This new facility includes the Hall of Fame, a new Ballroom for the Charlotte Convention Center and possibly a new office building for NASCAR. Charlotte, which had long been considered the favorite, had to beat out the other "short list" cities of Daytona Beach, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is currently scheduled to open in 2009.
