Harvick Penalized For Qualifying Infraction

Saturday March 12, 2005
Kevin Harvick had his qualifying run disallowed Friday as he became the first driver to be penalized under a rule that requires all teams to qualify with a full 22 gallons of fuel. He'll be forced to start at the back of the pack on Sunday and it is safe to assume that NASCAR will be announcing some fines next week for this one. NASCAR Online has a full description of the penalty, and the creative engineering involved.
