Hendrick Motorsports Plane Missing

Sunday October 24, 2004
A Hendrick Motorsports airplane was reported missing this morning by the FAA. The plane was on its way to Martinsville Speedway when it disappeared from radar. Authorities are still investigating.

Reportedly the airplane contained two pilots and eight passengers. Rick Hendricks's brother, John Hendrick and Rick's son Ricky Hendrick as well as engine builder Randy Dorton were reportedly on board.

Ricky Hendrick is a former Busch and Truck series driver who had retired from the driver seat to take on more responsibility behind the scenes with the team.

Our prayers go out to the extended Hendrick Motorsports family.

Hi, I read an article about Richard Childress Racing in (”Want a great deal on a used car?”) USA TODAY newspaper. I read that you have about 100 outdated engines to unload to auction off or donate. I was wondering if there was any way I can get a hold of one of those engines somehow. I’m 17 years old, and I got my first car. It’s a 1970 Z28 Camaro, it’s an original Z28. It is a original four-speed car, it has a 12 bolt rear-end, with a 3:73 gear ratio. The only bad thing is that I don’t have a engine for it so maybe if there was a way to get a engine or engine parts that would be GREAT!

Thank You : Jimmy Hilson
