Dodge Off To A Slow Start?

Sunday February 8, 2004
It's only one race. It doesn't mean anything. It's a restrictor plate race. There, now that we got all of the excuses out of the way what is wrong with Dodge? Of the nineteen cars that started the Bud Shootout they only put one car in the top ten while managing to hold down 6 of the last nine spots.

The fact that the two wrecks in the race involved only Dodge drivers certainly tilts these statstics quite a bit. Dave Blaney was up front mixing it up with leader Mayfield (both Dodges) when they found the wall. On the last lap Ryan Newman and Jamie McMurray wrecked hard taking out two more.

Clearly off to a bad start for 2004, but this is simply a case of bad luck more than an indication of a real problem.
