NASCAR doesn't make the rulebook available to the general public but there are a number of rules that race fans should know well.

Edwards and Harvick Fight at Lowes Motor Speedway

On Thursday drivers arrived at Lowes Motor Speedway to start preparing for this weekend's Nationwide and Sprint Cup series events. It seems there were still some hard feelings left over from the crash late in the Talladega race last weekend. According to witnesses Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick got into a physical fight in the garage0.

I think Carl is a bit taller and has a longer reach but my money would have to be on Harvick. He seems like a pretty tough guy.

Chase Rolls Into Lowes Motor Speedway

2008 Bank of America 500 at Lowes Motor SpeedwayLast week Jimmie Johnson avoided troubles in Talladega and extended his point lead over Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle. This week the Chase visits Lowes Motor Speedway for the 2008 Bank of America 500.

Jimmie Johnson dominates all active drivers at Lowes Motor Speedway in just about every category. However it was Kasey Kahne who had the hot hand when the Sprint Cup series was here in May. Kahne won both the All-Star and Coca-Cola 600 events and now has his sights set on becoming the first driver to ever sweep all three Sprint Cup races at Lowes.

Official Statement Regarding Passing Below the Yellow Line

The finish to yesterday's 2008 AMP Energy 500 in Talladega featured quite a controversy. Rookie Regan Smith crossed below the yellow line on the final lap and passed Tony Stewart for the apparent win. Although he crossed the finish line first NASCAR awarded the victory to Tony Stewart.

Today NASCAR issued an official statement regarding passing below the yellow line at Talladega and Daytona.
