Mark Martin to Hendrick Motorsports in 2009?

Tuesday July 1, 2008
Silly season is now in full swing. Dale Earnhardt Inc. announced today that Aric Almirola will drive their flagship #8 full-time in 2009. This announcement potentially frees up Mark Martin to move to Hendrick Motorsports to take over the #5.

Casey Mears will not be returning to the #5 in 2009. He is now rumored to be the top contender for the new Richard Childress Racing #33. Bobby Labonte was considered the front runner for the Childress seat but recently announced that he will be staying with Petty Enterprises.

It seems like there have been more top quality rides available this year. As a result more big name drivers are moving around to fill them than usual. We will need a scorecard to know who is who during the 2009 Daytona 500.

Kurt Busch Wins Rain Shortened New Hampshire Race

Monday June 30, 2008
The 2008 Lenox Industrial Tools 301 didn't make it the full scheduled distance. Mother Nature took over with just 17 laps remaining and the race was called due to rain. Kurt Busch did not have the fastest car but his team played the strategy perfectly and he walked away with the win.

The big story of the day was the incident between Juan Pablo Montoya and Kyle Busch. These two famous hotheads got together on the track yesterday and created some fireworks. Their battled ended with an intentional wreck when Montoya turned Busch around under caution.

NASCAR normally hands out penalties on Tuesday. Do you think they deserve a penalty for their actions?

Thursday June 26, 2008
2008 Lenox Industrial Tools 301The 2008 Lenox Industrial Tools 301 will help set the stage for The Chase in many ways. The first race of The Chase will be on this same track so teams comfortably in The Chase can use this weekend as a practice session for September.

At the back end of the top twelve drivers are now on the final leg of the season leading to the cutoff. Will Matt Kenseth be able to hold onto his slim two-point hold on twelfth place? Will Kevin Harvick battle his way into a Chase spot? The Race to the Chase is on!
